In the second class on the morning of 18th March, in Class 2, Grade 2, teacher Yu Lijuan with the Primary Department of Anqing Foreign Language School demonstrated a themed class meeting with the title of ‘Civility in Our Hearts’. All head teachers were in attendance and observed the class.
To be concrete, this viewing and emulating activity was one of a series of events in the 2017 Civic Virtues Month in the Primary Section. The reasonable design of various sessions in the theme class meeting conformed to the characteristics of the lower grade students’ body and mind.
On the one hand, the lively classroom atmosphere was manifested by means of various forms of colorful activities such as press interviews, storytelling, video clips as well as poetry reading.
On the other hand, the theme class meeting perfectly led students to grasp the implication conveyed by the character ‘Li’, which can be interpreted as etiquette, politeness, comity, formality in addition to laws and courtesy, which also played a great guiding significance for students to become civilized citizens in school, family and society.
